Newly elected trustee Julian Cuevas, from Dixon Unified School District and co-founder Briana Mullen, from Education Justice Academy will share our theory of change in creating racially just school districts through sustained community partnerships and power at the local level. Through a partnership with Stanford University, we will share the vision to create community school initiatives in Dixon Unified by rebuilding trust and engagement with the first Latinx elected official to the school board and with support from EJA. Shifting school district practices and behaviors takes much more than just policy and systems - it takes a community collectively reenvisioning what they expect from their local public schools.
